Project: Supporting the Independent Living of PWDs

People with Disabilities are entitled to live full and independent lives, which they can achieve through access to education, employment and social inclusion. In Laos, there is stigma in society towards people with disabilities, which blocks their access to education and employment, and ostracizes them from fully participating in social events & activities.
Through supporting the various Disability People’s Organizations, such as the Intellectual Disability Unit and the Association for Deaf, in participating in CRPD trainings, social events, Sign Language Trainings & workplace trainings, with assistance from the Asian Development with Disabled Persons program (Japan) and Caritas Australia, the LDPA ensures that people with disabilities are given the opportunity to access these things, so that they may live healthy, independent lives.
